Jimmy Wayne Sissom, 46, has recently been ordered to serve 15 months in a federal prison due to his conviction on one count of bankruptcy fraud, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced. Sissom is from Bastrop and was the owner of Dealers Management Group Inc., which is a used car company located in Houston. He was also a partner is F & S Storage Company in Katy, Texas. Sissom pleaded guilty to the charge on Sept. 27, 2012.

Sissom was handed a 15 month sentence by U.S. District Judge Sim Lake after he accepted the guilty plea. Prison will be followed up by three years of supervised release.

In May 2006, Sissom filed for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition. In the course of the bankruptcy proceeding, Sissom informed the trustee that he had listed all of his assets that were in his estate. He failed to disclose, however, that about two weeks prior to filing the bankruptcy, his wife had purchased a home is Bastrop that was valued at more than $300,000.

At the time of his plea, Sissom admitted that he had made a false statement to his trustee about his assets.

Sissom was previously released on bond and was permitted to remain on bond and voluntarily surrender to a U.S. Bureau Prisons Facility that will soon be determined.

The investigation was held by the FBI and the Assistant United States Attorney Quincy L. Ollison prosecuted the case with the help of the United States Trustee’s Office.
